Listen in to my recent video as I comment on one of Greg Laurie's Teaching on What is a True disciple.

What is a True Disciple? Can you be lukewarm? Is a Disciple a Christian and Vice Versa?
I discuss these and more in my latest video.

Communion

Hey Guys it's been a long time since I posted yet again. I apologize for the delay I have been so busy with school/college courses and things going on in my life that I almost forgot about my blog. I didn't really forget about it, it just got put on the back burner as it were.
A lot of things have been going on in my life lately; in January of this year I got to go to Passion 2012, that was a really life changing experience in my life and really brought me closer to God in many ways. The speakers there were Louie Giglio, Francis Chan, Beth Moore, John Piper.

I would like to go next year again it was really opened up my eyes to the things of God and how God uses us as the Body of Christ to do things worldwide I am not sure as of this time because of the fact air travel and other things can add up. I just happened to go because I prayed and asked God to move on it and it ended up my registration was completely paid for by someone else and I got help elsewhere on my traveling fees and just paid for food costs so God was Extremely Gracious in answering my prayers.

I am not sure if God wants me to go next year it depends what happens from here. One thing I learned from Passion was that as Christians we are called to preach the Gospel everywhere to all people regardless of where we are in our walk with God and where we are in the world; and that it's not just to go from conference to conference but that we are really called by God to serve Him in all our capacity in wherever we are.

For those of you who have not heard of Passion 2012 it is a movement started by Pastor Louie Giglio it is really a movement of young College people who want to stand up for Jesus and proclaim His name in our lives. at the Heart of Passion is a desire to seek God as our highest priority in our lives wherever we are in our lives.
For more information about Passion I'd recommend going to this website: Passion.

Ok let's go on to a subject that I'd like to talk about is Communion. Before I made a note on facebook talking about the importance of communion which I will post here so as not to have repeat everything again but i will add a few things along the way:

I thought about another very important to us as Believers that we should celebrate on the Lord's Day- Communion which can be found is found in the Gospel of Luke Chapter 22:
Luke 22
The Plot to Kill Jesus
 1(A) Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called(B) the Passover. 2And the chief priests and the scribes(C) were seeking how to put him to death, for they feared the people.
Judas to Betray Jesus
 3(D) Then(E) Satan entered into(F) Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve. 4He went away and conferred with the chief priests and(G) officers how he might betray him to them. 5And they were glad, and agreed to give him money. 6So he consented and sought an opportunity to(H) betray him to them in the absence of a crowd.
The Passover with the Disciples
 7(I) Then came(J) the day of Unleavened Bread, on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. 8So Jesus[a] sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat it." 9They said to him, "Where will you have us prepare it?" 10He said to them, "Behold, when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him into the house that he enters 11and tell the master of the house,(K) 'The Teacher says to you, Where is(L) the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?' 12And he will show you(M) a large upper room furnished; prepare it there." 13And they went and found it(N) just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
Institution of the Lord’s Supper
14(O) And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him. 15And he said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16For I tell you I will not eat it[b](P) until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God." 17And he took a cup, and(Q) when he had given thanks he said, "Take this, and divide it among yourselves. 18(R) For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine(S) until the kingdom of God comes." 19(T) And he took bread, and(U) when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, (V) "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me." 20And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, (W) "This cup that is poured out for you is(X) the new(Y) covenant in my blood.[c] 21(Z) But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is(AA) with me on the table. 22For the Son of Man goes(AB) as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!"
23And they began to question one another, which of them it could be who was going to do this.

As Believers we put our Faith and Trust in Our Lord Jesus Christ - communion is an intimate part of our walk with Christ - as we go through our Sanctification through our walk with the Lord day by day more into the image of our Lord as we confess our sins before God and Repent of our sins and believe upon the Gospel.

The Significance of Communion is the Remembrance of our Lord and what He did on the Cross of Calvary for us and the Price that He paid with the shedding of His blood and the Breaking of the Bread in particular there is a Psalm that closely resembles the Crucifixion of our Lord - that is Psalm 22 there is very striking similarities between that Psalm and the Crucifixion. - and the description of the broken bones in verse 14:
 14I am(Y) poured out like water,
   and all my bones are(Z) out of joint;
my(AA) heart is like(AB) wax;
   it is melted within my breast;
15my strength is(AC) dried up like a potsherd,
   and my(AD) tongue sticks to my jaws;
   you lay me in the dust of death.
In Communion we Remember our Lord's Death & Resurrection

The Second Point is the Lord's Supper is the Remembrance of the Promise of Christ's Second Coming in Luke 21 verses 25-28:
The Coming of the Son of Man
 25"And(AV) there will be signs in sun and moon(AW) and stars, and on the earth(AX) distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, 26people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For(AY) the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27And then they will see(AZ) the Son of Man coming in a cloud(BA) with power and great glory. 28Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and(BB) raise your heads, because(BC) your redemption is drawing near."
We know our Lord will come back - we don't know when exactly - other than He will come back as a "Thief in the night," However this is something as believers we should be looking forward to seeing our Lord come back for His Bride - what a Glorious site it will to see Our Lord coming to Come for His Bride and we will be with Him for All Eternity - what a Glorious Gospel and God that we serve.

In Summary the Communion we Celebrate on Lord's Day We both remember:1) Our Lord's Death and Resurrection from the Grave -
  1. Which we then confess our sins to God and in remembering what Christ did for us as we "Partake" or remember our Lord's Death and Resurrection
  2. Christ's Second Coming - we then Remember that we will see Christ again as believers either when He returns or when He calls us Home.
Communion is something that is very important and something that is really close in my heart as a believer is something that means a lot to me. Because of it's significance and what it means that Jesus was broken and poured out for my to pay for my sins in full and if you are a Believer he has paid for your sins also in full.

I'd like to add this video that really focuses on this aspect it is called "Mystery" by Charlie Hall from the Passion album "White Flag". EDIT: I have removed this video as apparently it is blocked in some countries. Go look it up online if you want to see it.

Sweet Jesus Christ my clarity

Cup of salvation held up to drink

Christ is risen,

Lift your eyes, proclaim his come
Celebrate his death and rising

Lift you eyes, lift your eyes
